We are excited to announce that Borealis is looking for an Expert Media & Channels working in our Group Communications team in the Borealis Head Office in Vienna, Austria. This expert will support in creating a dialogue with key target audiences via our corporate communication channels, with a specific focus on media topics and publications. This individual will contribute to the implementation of the underlying communications strategy derived from business objectives and target audience requirements. Being a member of the Corporate Newsroom, he/she will align closely with the rest of the Communications team and stakeholders across the company to drive the communication of key strategic topics and follow up with channel measurement and reporting to ensure consistent, optimised corporate and business communication in a purpose-driven way

PLEASE NOTE: This role is a maternity cover, and limited until 31.10.2025.

As an Expert Media & Channels you will be:

  • Supporting dialogue with the society and core target audiences through effective communication via corporate online and offline channels 
  • Supporting the implementation of the corporate communications strategy with the underlying content and channel strategies 
  • Interacting within functional areas in order to optimise and ensure consistent corporate and business communication, save-guarding the corporate brand and reputation
  • Customisation of communication assets (e.g. media releases, press kits, factsheets) in-house or in collaboration with external partners and agencies and based on the content development by the corporate content, regional content or marketing promotion teams
  • Managing translations of communications assets into our corporate languages (briefing translation agencies, proof-reading or managing the process of quality controls)
  • Executing content release of online and offline communication activities with a focus on media publications (media releases, corporate website news, etc.) and covering stand-in responsibilities within the corporate channel team (e.g. publishing of internal news)
  • Supporting the development and implementation of media plans 
  • Supporting the corporate communications team with media relation activities for corporate events and exhibitions (e.g. press conferences, press kits, etc.)
  • Organising internal media trainings for corporate spokespersons
  • Supporting diverse internal and external corporate communications projects, ensuring alignment with the necessary stakeholders and validation by senior management 
  • Ensuring channel evolution through media clipping, measuring and reporting of channel performance in collaboration with the Data Analyst and other team members (e.g. media monitoring and performance analysis)
  • Supporting quality assurance of communication activities by consistently implementing standards, processes and best practices as well as contributing to further framework and template development

About you

  • Bachelor’s (ideally Master) degree in Communications / Marketing / Branding / Business, ideally with focus on Media, Public Relations or relevant field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within an international environment on corporate or agency side
  • Native German and business-fluent English language skills with a good feeling for languages in general
  • Experience in media relations or managing corporate communications in multiple languages
  • Understanding of B2B and/or industrial environment is preferred
  • Affinity for or experience with efficiency tools in communications (e.g. content management tools, planning tools, media monitoring tools etc.)
  • Highly structured and well organised personality with an eye for detail and the ability to de/prioritise tasks to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Proactive and self-motivated mindset with a passion to work in an international team

Following Austrian law regulations, we offer, reflecting your experiences, skills and competencies, competitive compensation based on the collective labour agreement starting at EUR 55.600 annual gross salary (based on 38 hrs/week) and are willing to pay more based on your experience and background. In addition, we offer a yearly bonus and a voluntary company pension plan.
